Avatar Month, day 3, Hakoda. Yeah, still have my head in Avacado Lover's story. I really wanted to draw this, so I did. The guy standing next to Hakoda is Kuthruk, the Healer. He's kind of going "Holy crap I'm supposed to help this kid? He's practically dead already" but of course Zuko survives. If his scar seems weird it's because it isn't a scar yet, it's a rotting third degree burn. If I ever do this in color, it'll need a violence warning...
I had no idea that you drew this! Arg, I'm so mad at myself. You're going on the watch-list now!
OMG it is so scary to have an minor original character, and then look at a drawing and go... "Wow... that's him." Kuthruk is perfect. He even looks to be the same age that I imagined! How did you do that? o_O
Aw for Hakoda and Zuko. I love the detail around Zuko's burn, and Hakoda has the perfect look on his face. This whole drawing is so crisp and clear it almost looks like it was torn out of a coloring book. I've said it before, but you have such talent. Thank you SO much for drawing this scene!
You're quite welcome. Well, you said "face full of wrinkles" or something, I kind of mixed Pakku with Bato only not quite as tall, and made up the clothes as I went. I know it's a little small, but the pendant is supposed to look like the moon pulling the tides, and he has a medicine pouch because I felt like it. As for the coloring book comment, I'm keeping most of my work line-art right now so it can be colored later, so in a way I guess I am drawing a coloring book...

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.

What an amazing rendering of the three. Your attention to the detailing of the costumes is incredible.
